Here are the techniques i use to find and prevent leaks.

The bigger the tire and the better the brand the higher the cost. Don t believe anybody who tells you that older tires are safe to use because this is not the case. If the leak is at the roof seam for leaks originating at roof seams or vents the best sealer to cure the problem is flow seal a self leveling sealer that will be runny when applied and will level out and dry to a firm flexible cover encapsulating the seam or roof mounted accessory.

In many cases the client bought it from a private party who swore up and down that the roof was just fine no leaks. Furthermore good quality rv tires can be very expensive. You are going to have leaks. If the vinyl insert tape in your corner molding becomes damaged discolored or brittle you can freshen.

Even new rvs leak sometimes. We picked it up from the dealership and went camping that weekend. Seams break loose caulking gets old and things wiggle. If you have an rv sooner or later you re going to have a leak.

In many cases leaks can cause serious structural damage. I have a brand new vibe camper by forest river. I purchased a brand new 2014 tracer 3200 bht last fall. Rather it s the customer.

When an rv is going down the road it is being beaten up worse than a house in a moderate earthquake. I took delivery on february 20 and it already has leaks in at least 2 different places. We recently replaced our six 19 inch tires with a decent brand and paid more than 2300. Dealer says they will fix leaks and resulting damage pending warranty approval from forest river.
